Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som is a pioneering destination in the Middle East that blends Traditional Arabic & Islamic Medicine with a holistic health and well-being philosophy. I began creating the Zulal Wellness concept in 2014 as a special project on behalf of HRH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. My work included Conceptual Development and Technical Design Services and was completed in 2017.
Zulal was an incredible project and I devoted 2+ years of my creativity and knowledge to its development. My role in this project was to create the story and backstory of the spa, the base of services, the brand identity, the brand wellness philosophy, and the overall business strategy.
I worked alongside an amazing team of architects, builders, and designers to develop the design style, program, and layout.
Zulal recently received one of the highest international wellness industry honors, World's Best New Wellness Retreat 2020!
This concept was crafted from a simple seed idea to a unique and complete brand. With a great team of collaborators from Trilogy Spa Holdings, Spa Strategy, WATG and Wimberly Interiors, Msheireb Properties, Turner International Middle East, and a slew of others, we developed one of the most innovative and exciting destinations in the world!
I am proud to see so much of the original concept and the ideas and content remain. Also very happy to see Chiva-Som International Health Resorts Co., Ltd. will be caretaking this brand and raising it to another level.
